Jesus of Nazareth,
Son of the Living God, the Messiah and
Savior
|
Jesus was born in
Bethlehem of
Judea.
Jesus was born to Mary, a virgin, by a
miracle of the Holy Spirit. The Gospel of Luke gives
an account of the angel Gabriel visiting
Mary to tell her that she was chosen to
bear the Son of God (Luke 1:26-38).
|
"Come follow me," Jesus said,
"I will make you fishers of men."
Walking by the Sea of Galilee, Jesus saw
two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter,
and Andrew, His brother. Jesus said to
them, "Come after me, and I will make you
fishers for men." They immediately left
their nets and followed Him (Matthew 4:18-20).
|
Jesus taught and
preached the good news.
The Gospels state that Jesus is the
Messiah and Son of God, sent to "give His
life as a ransom for many" and "preach
the good news of the Kingdom of God."
(Mark 10:45),
(Luke 4:43).
|
Jesus is the
shepherd of His sheep.

Jesus came that we may have life, and may
have it abundantly. "I am the good
shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His
life for the sheep" (John 10:10-11).
|
Jesus died on the cross
for our sins and was crucified.
"He was pierced for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities; the
punishment that brought our peace was on
Him; and by His wounds we are healed. All
of us were like sheep that were lost,
each of us going His own way. But the
LORD made the punishment fall on Him, the
punishment all of us deserved" (Isaiah 53:5-7).
|
Jesus rose from the
grave and was resurrected.
Then Jesus said to Thomas, "Reach here
your finger, and see my hands. Reach here
your hand, and put it into my side. Don't
be unbelieving, but believing." Thomas
answered Him, "My Lord and my God!" Jesus
said to Him, "Because you have seen me,
you have believed. Blessed are those who
have not seen, and have believed."
(John 20:27-29).
